Two Navy hospital employees who worked in the maternity ward of the Naval Hospital of Jacksonville, Florida, post their hate crime on social media, leading a high school classmate of one of the women to turn them in.
The junior corpswomen, Allyson Thompson and Joanie Barrett, used newborn black babies as props in their Snapchat posts, drawing devil’s wings on them. The nurses made the babies “dance” by shaking them on video, while playing 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.” One of the women held her middle finger up to an infant, writing, “How I currently feel about these mini Satans.”
The hospital booted the hateful racists who, as nursing assistants, had been trusted with caring for innocent babies as they entered the world. The administrative staff added in a Facebook post that the women “will be handled by the legal system and military justice.”
They were hateful, sneaky, abusive, and they don’t regret for a minute for what they did. One can only hope they one day realize the depth of their own wretchedness and spend every waking hour they have left on Earth treating all babies like the precious angels they are.
